I just bought this, actually this release has 8 LPs not 7 LPs.

I'm a senior citizen, been a classical music lover my whole life, have owned this box set for many years, but for no good reason almost never listened to any of it. But yesterday I started a serious listen through the whole thing after first thoroughly cleaning the disks. Throughout my long life I have listened to very many performances of these symphonies, both recorded, broadcast and live. But what I'm hearing now is beautiful beyond anything I've ever heard before. It combines both meticulous attention to every detail with mind blowingly beautiful renderings of the deep emotions in these works, bringing out things that were heretofore unknown to me. Thank you so much Herbert Von and DG. -
Predictable box set, but surprisingly high quality production value. A great way to introduce yourself to this catalog of work. -

My copy of this has come with a pressing defect in the second movement of Eroica - highly disappointing. Let’s hope another one doesn’t have the same issue when I get it exchanged. -
