Dio (2) – Sacred Heart

Pops & cracks are annoyng, distorsion… A lot of scratches from the paper sleeve… it is a pitty for the great music. Nevereless, it is still enjoyable listening to the vinyl version and I happy having it added to my collection. I did not have the chance to compare to other version.

The album is great, no doubt about it. The mastering on the other hand is not. Like other s mentioned, you will have distortion and or sibilance on the tracks.

I really like this album. Although it can’t compare to Holy Diver, nothing can. This album is still awesome with some great sounds. The pressing is great too. I find that a common trait amongst many Warner pressings from this time.

Etching says that this is my version of this LP. Mine is a very dark, smokey translucent black. Anyone else´s LP look like this?

I agree with LVK86. This album needs a total remix & remaster. But it's listenable with a little EQ.
There's no better way to enjoy this music

Bought new, didnt have a sudden Wolves appear like the other comments. Like *all* of my other Vertigo reissues, the jacket was split in shipping due to the record bouncing around inside. Sound is rather bright, and the highs sound compressed / clipped on this mastering, and it appears to be cut from the current digital remaster...which is at least better than all the other digital versions out there. The clipping I hear is present on all versions, and it's probably an issue where if they want to boost certain frequencies it's going to catch that bad one in his vocal track as well at times. Honestly, this album needs a total remix & remaster, it's always been his worst produced despite having a lot of good music on it. I think it's worth buying if you love Dio and the album, but a definitive version to be happy with just doesn't exist yet.

This pressing is quality, with no distortion nor other issues.

I purchased a brand new, sealed copy of this and the vinyl LP inside the "Sacred Heart" sleeve was "Lock Up The Wolves". Obviously this is a manufacturing error. Did anyone else get the wrong vinyl inside the right sleeve???

This sounds amazing! & it's on gorgeous 180g clear vinyl with two sweet killer hype stickers one of which has the metal horns on it! \m/ yea RJD fans rejoice!
