Notes
There were two different versions of "Drama of Exile," released by different labels under slightly different titles. This is the second issue, released under the title "The Drama of Exile" after a legal controversy was settled with Aura Records that released the first issue. The first issue in 1981, Nico (3) - Drama Of Exile, was a 9-track offering that included the track "Purple Lips." This second issue from 1983 excludes "Purple Lips" but adds the tracks "Saeta" and "Vegas" released on a 7" single in 1981. However, the tracks shared between the two versions of the album are identical takes.

Edited 12 months agoI got the damn thing, sealed, at home, but I'm far from home, (ironically enough, an actual "drama of exile") where my turntable and gear is 😱...SO THIS IS NOT THE 1983 VERSION????? What fresh hell is this??? I did a pretty deep Internet dive on this and the only non advertising info is the reviews below!!! It's being shilled all over the place (including Forced Exposure!!!!) as the Invisible rec version... I have an MP3 rip with me of the original... won't be in the same zip code as this vinyl for a while yet...

Pretty sure the above notes are incorrect on this. There was a recording that was originally released on Aura in the UK. The one with the great big black and white "N" cover released in was a re-recorded and remixed version of the same songs. Of the two versions, I personally prefer the second version with the big black N on the front. I only have MP3 versions of this cuz I haven't been able to come across a clean French vinyl copy here in the United States at a reasonable price. However, the upshot is they are definitely two different records and recordings, and now the past few years has confused the issue, with the original Aura recording being re-released with the Saeta single, etc... Couldn't give a toss about the legalities of any of it, but I'd like to have a really good copy of the N cover either on CD or vinyl or both. I will probably order the most recent vinyl reissue and report back. I know all six of you that care about Nico's early 80s music will be waiting with bated breath...😈 -

Apart of the question whether or not it is a bootleg, it actually is the 1981 version with added Saeta and Vegas. Absolutely misd, don’t recommend. Not the 1983 version as promised! And the resolution of the cover picture is far below optimal.
