Overkill – Horrorscope

I’ve just got this and I can confirm even after an ultrasonic clean it is a bit noisy. It does sound good however, a bit quiet but sounds good turned up.

As said. Noisy and low volume. I cleaned before playing and it was still pretty crackly.
I had to crank it up quite a bit.
I put the OG CD in right after and it's way louder.
This should be a a double LP.
As far as the mix goes, to my ears /system, its really close to the original, although this seems to have slightly more bottom end to guitars and the drums are a bit more punchy... but it's well done and doesn't offend if youre a fan of the OG mix.

I didn't notice a sound drop in any songs.

Sloppy, phoned-in reissue from Rhino. Fuzzy cover artwork clearly scanned from the CD cover and then blown up to 12". No lyrics, no liner notes, nothing of value. Shameful.

Doomy thrash. This reissue is not called a remaster but the mix is perfect, no compression here. Has a very deep sound and can be cranked to 10 without any fatigue.

Not a very good pressing, in "Bare Bones", the sound quality drops, making it sound muffled and distorted. Is that just me or is that a problem in all of the pressings?

LP was flat and sounds great. Vary little marbling in the blue. The cover is very nice as well made, not a soft image like many re-issues. Price was great as well, only $26.99.

First copy was pretty noisy, especially the intro. I got my replacement and it was worse (both after wet cleaning and destat). A shame because it's mastered pretty well (although quiet). The cover and printed inner sleeve were done really well. The Rhino version's packaging was laughable compared to this one. Both the Rhino and this one sound better than the muddy European original, so this is probably still my favorite copy even with the crackle. Now I need to stop buying different versions of this album. :)

Picked this up. Good packaging. Faithful redo of the original. Vinyl is flat. Gave mine a good clean before and wow does this sound great. You can really crank this. Not fatiguing to listen to. Wide soundstage. I cannot see myself ever needing a different copy other than this one.

Anybody compare this to the 2017 Rhino reissue? I have that one and it sounds great. Hoping for a comparison. I was very happy with the half-speed Years of Decay.

Noisey vinyl throughout both sides. Cleaned it on my Okki Nokki…no difference. Very noticeable in the opening minute or two of Side A. Crazy that this made it out of the plant.
