Usually I frown at 'short' compilations - 2 CDs with 87 minutes total placed in a big box meaning occupying more space is not something I like. However this is a big exception to my likings since this must be one of the best compilations from 1992. Sells cheap and there are many versions, if you're into techno-hardcore-breakbeat-house from those days there's no reason not to bag this.

Full of awesome one-offs. Amazing release - I wouldn't have really even thought of looking at it except by chance, and I am so happy I did. If you see it, buy it.

Forget Metapharstic. This used to be the only way to get TZ 6 and Bolland's Space Invaders. It more than likely still is. There's a vinyl LP of this floating around as well.
-
I am pretty sure this was the first place to find Aphex Twin's Metapharstic, later included in the Classics release in 95.

Edited 5 years agoSnap shot of Mayday 92, for me most notable for the only place to get "Metapharstic" until the Classics release 3 years later.
In true Richard fashion he says "F*#k off" at the end of his track.

I bought this compilation mostly for collection reasons since this kind of techno isn't my style. People like me will find those tracks slow, too long, without imagination, monotonus. But...., this kind of music is our ancestor. Everything we know and love in techno, rave, hardcore era comes from this style. So, think of this cd as an introduction in the evolution of techno music and enjoy. I was laughing (in a good way) while listening to it, because it reminded me those good old days. Feel free and enjoy the early 90's.

This one isn't a R&S release, its a Low Spirit Recordings release, so shouldn't be classified here, but in the Low Spirit Recordings list.

Excellent tracks from early 90s! I just love those chaotic techno tracks with all bleeps and blops, just listen to Signs Of Chaos - U Can't Stop It (Camo Club Remix)... It's giving me rushes. =)
