Pressing sounds phemomenal. New mix has banjo, keys, and accessory instruments up front in between the three guitar attack. I have noticed the spatial difference between both the original mix and the new mix. The artwork is also upgraded and the signed copy is the topping on the cake. -

I don't understand 100 percent of the changes made on this album, but I trust DBT enough as artists to know that they mean something to them. This is a gorgeous, gorgeous edition of a kick-ass album. -

My favourite DBT album. This remaster sounds amazing. The separation is incredible! Sounds like you’re in the room with the band. Beautiful! -

DBT did an amazing job with this set. Everything is super high quality without it hurting your wallet. It’s fascinating hearing an album that I know extremely well reinterpreted like this. The new vocals and sequencing are great and add a new dimension to an already masterful album. -

Packaging is great and not awfully priced at ~$45 for a 2 lp box set with 32 page booklet. Mastering is warm and rich with the intended compression and good detail. It could use a bit more edge on the high end to my ears, but far better this than too bright. I agree that the redone vocals don’t distract but can’t see what they add either. GZ + colored vinyl = surface noise everytime…just a question of how much. My copy is too not bad after ultrasonic cleaning given the level of the music but the start of each side is crackle town. Worth the cost, damn great album. -

Beautiful package and the pressing is good. Some ticks and pops here and there but nothing I’d warn people against buying. A great album and the extra songs really add to it. Not sure about the redone vocals but they don’t distract from how I enjoying the album. Play LOUD!! -

This album is loved and appreciated by many for being a darkly atmospheric, hard rock southern masterpiece. Is it any wonder that almost 20 years later, it sounds better than ever? -

This is the album that made me fall in love with DBT. I saw Never Gonna Change played on Connan and was hooked. I honestly don't think there is a bad song on this album. It starts of hitting you across the head wit the great slide guitar riff of Where the Devil Don't Stay, then softens and diversifies to deliver a variety of southern tales, only to kick it right back up to 11 with Never Gonna Change and Lookout Mountain at the end. They re-recorded Lookout Mountain for this album and it was a great choice as the song grew and improved from a good song to a outstanding song over the years of the bands existence. Then the last song hits you in the gut with a slow, soft and beautiful tune sung by Jason Isbell, Goddamn Lonely Love serves as a powerful and fitting cap to a great listening experience. -

This is my 3rd copy of this beautiful album! Whenever I need a great album I usually turn to TDS or any other handful of classics because it reminds me of a time in my life as it will remind everyone and the band where they were at. They were kicken ass with 3 stars and a bad ass group and they put together an ultimate classic with The Dirty South. Maybe I can only hear it in my head but what I hear is great lyrics and vocals with great instrumentation . Yes the group has grown so much and they will always be the fan that says “ Oh they were so much better with Jason “. You could not be more wrong as DBT as grown just as Jason as grown. One more global and one more as artist
