Excellent release.
4 tracks by the same artist, yet every track in a slightly different style.
Helium has one of the more original uses of acid-synths, due to the effects.
There is a lot of phase and reverb used, so the whole track gives a hypnotic effect as a whole and a more original type of acid-synth programming in particular.
Man Over Machine is one of the tracks where a lot of the focus is laid on the usage of a robotic, hypnotic female voice, one of Amelie's signature styles. The voice is used as a synth-melody in itself, truly guiding the listener on an audio experience.. with some trippy acid in the background.. and an interestingly programmed percussion guiding the rhythm.
Little Robot is the more minimal-oriented track on this one. The only "melody", is a synth which is almost programmed like a percussive element..
Storm brings us another acid-oriented track, with again a heavy emphasis on rhythmic percussion accompanying the kickdrum.
I'd say one can hear a lot of work has been put in each track. And even though Amelie is "hot" and "hype" in of popularity, the style she offers us does not suffer from any commercial-oriented cheesiness at all! We still get the experience of a quality underground sound when listening to this! -
