For those curious:
1. European Son (different take)
2.Black Angel's Death Song (different mix)
3.All Tomorrow's Parties (different mix)
4. I'll Be Your Mirror (different mix)
5. Heroin (different take)
6.Femme Fatale (different mix)
7. Venus in Furs (different take)
8. I'm Waiting for the Man (different take)
9. Run Run Run (different mix)
Although more lofi and muddier than the original Verve record, 'European Son' has a more menacing "roar" created by the chair being dragged and an exaggerated beginning note of the solo afterward. 'Heroin' has a more sparse intro and is faster, the 'heartbeat/throbbing' drums aren't as prominent in the mix, which is the appeal of this song. I like the tambourine idly shaking in the second verse lol Not as powerful as the released version. 'Venus in Furs' is faster and not as hypnotic as the original, sounds like a more straight ahead rendition, almost like a folk Dylanesque 'Masters of War' if you take out the viola. In 'Waiting for the Man' the barhouse piano is barely present. The guitar is dominating this take and it's just loud guitar quarter beats throughout. So a bit more unrefined and repetitive, but it has a more bluesy guitar solo/breakdown after the first 2 verses. -

There was a Q&A at the Warhol Museum last night and I asked if there were plans to release the audio of this from the master tape they found - the answer was no. -

No packaging = cash grab by Polydor/Universal (that's 10 words). -

I have a black vinyl copy (not the 'black-strip' version) of this if anyone is interested. -

The master tape for this release has been found and is debuting at the Warhol museum in Pittsburgh. Hopefully we can get a good quality release of this. -

Well worth seeking out. A great job done with declicking and denoising. The raw acetate dub making the rounds is so noisy, it's almost unlistenable but this cd or its counterpart lp is very listenable. I prefer these dubs over the mono dubs used on the 45th anniversary box set -

A very overlooked nuance on this acetate: the 3rd chorus of Run Run Run reveals the official version has been modified with an edit with different lead guitar and vocals. I don't hear any obvious mistakes on the original Dolph version. I can only guess the original master may have been damaged or accidently erased forcing the edit/repair. Anyone know for sure what happened? -

I picked up a copy today and have just seen I can’t find the same copy on Discogs anywhere.
It’s a marbled beetroot colour? I’m not sure how else to describe it. -
