Guys please change the description, there is no “pentagram etching “ it’s just the vinyl reacting with the material of the slipmat and gives polymerisation on the vinyl surface that looks like a pentagram.

Can't agree more with the review below me, this remix/remaster makes this album shine again. Gone are the thin typewriter drums, the orchestral parts are pushed more forward into the mix (revealing a ton of detail that was sort of audible on the original) and the vinyl itself is flawless. The dynamics are about the same as the original vinyl (DR10/11), but I still highly prefer this new version. It's just a more pleasing listening experience for such a dense album.

There's a couple of oddities between the original and this one, however. The songs no longer flow into one another as they did originally (see "Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny" and "Kings of the Carnival Creation": on the original these seamlessly flow into one another, but here there's a break in between. This happens on several songs.
There's also a strange new intro on "Perfection or Vanity", which sounds like a bunch of people preparing to record the song, which wasn't present on the original as far as I .

This record absolutely rips. The vinyl is nicely pressed and flat and most importantly the music sounds amazing. Other than a few pops here and there there is nothing bad to say about this classic

Sounds different. Some tracks has new unheard things now. I am very happy to add it to my collection of vinyls and sometimes I will prefer to listen this record rather than original.

Very sturdy box. Beautiful printing and artwork. But most importantly excellent quality vinyl and sound. Very dynamic, detailed, with elastic bass. Great sound!

This “remaster” didn’t need to happen. The audio is terrible - bass is too heavy and drowned out other frequencies, highs are gone, few extra samples and changes that didn’t add anything to the composition… it’s not the quality of the vinyl either - that was spot on with the digital copy. If you play the original with this version side by side, you’ll hear it immediately though - it’s poop. That being said, I’m not entirely unhappy i bought it though because the packaging and extras are pretty sweet. But worth it??? Meh…

This remixed and remastered version gives to the original album an incredible power and brightness, it's absolutely evident that these sounds and clearness weren't possibile in the year 2001, when the album came out for the first time. The vinyl are incredibly silent, no background noises, no defects on surfaces or other imperfections. The boxset includes a booklet with all the credits and lyrics, the front cover of the boxset has a completely different artwork, the bonus LP is an interesting plus: yes, it could be considered as a commercial move, but this boxset worths every cent imo.

They really went full out on this release. Everything looks great and the pressing itself is one of the best I’ve seen from a new record. The remaster sounds much better to my ears then the original and the vinyl master sounds full and dynamic. It’s expensive, but definitely the ultimate way to experience this album.
