Very pleased with this pressing! This, and Ghosteen are so painfully beautiful. He's pouring his heart out in anguish. Bone-chilling. This pressing is dynamic, well balanced, and with fantastic projection. -

The pressing I got is super clean. On record, the details of this album come out really good. Surface noise is almost non existent. Really happy with this record. The packaging is nice and high gloss. Also comes with card. This is my favourite Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album followed by Push The Sky Away in 2nd place. Can fully recommend this pressing. -

Least loved of my Cave albums, in fact having listened to it today for the first time in ages decided to flog it.
More depressing than a Leonard Cohen album. -
What a pivot. Skeleton Tree sees the bad seeds follow the course they chartered on the previous "Push the sky..." album. Both that album and this one mark a new chapter in the evolution of the bad seeds, which is complemented by the third album in this style series "Ghosteen". The gentle nature of these tracks, and their dark, tender, introspective content make for a thoroughly captivating listen. So sad. So beautiful. -

Bought used at the record shop. Crackle, snap, pop noise throughout and a muted, muddy sound.
Then I cleaned it several times over. Ultrasonic, scrubbing with multi-step cleaner, vacuum machine, more ultrasonic.
And now it sounds great! Maybe that’s all this record needs for other folks: a deep long clean. -

I love the album, but this is the dirtiest record I've pulled out of a sealed copy. -
Edited one year agoJust played a third (!) copy of this album. All have too much background noise and pops. Especially side B almost unbearable to listen to with sibilance on vocals and strings especially on title track Skeleton Tree.
Tried everything, cleaning, skating, different deck. Such a shame for such an unbelievably beautiful song.
