One of three US soul labels (the other being Motown, following disputes over royalties.
The label was first distributed by Buddah Records. CBS Records distributed the last three issues. Hot Wax was in operation during 1969 - 1977. The number sequence is a bit odd. The first two digits tell what year the record was released.
