Zodiac

Independent New Zealand label which was very prolific in the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Initially owned by Key label, however, Zodiac is still used for reissues.

Early recordings were done in a studio in the Pacific Building in Queen Street, Auckland, then on Eldred's Grundig machine either on-site or in a school hall in Mays Ave, Mt. Roskill, Auckland. A studio was built in Eldred's family home in 1962 and was finally replaced by a purpose-built facility in Jervois Rd, Herne Bay, Auckland, in 1970.

The label is still controlled by the Stebbing family.
