New Red Archives

Independent punk / hardcore label, established and based in San Francisco, CA since 1998. The label was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1987 by Cleopatra Records in 2012. In 2013 New Red Archives became a division of Cleopatra Records.

Many releases have been repeatedly repressed / reissued. The label design can sometimes be used to roughly date the pressings. The first 8-9 years of production, most LPs have one black label stating the label name and a design of a female figure with 7 dancing devil-type characters above and behind her. In 1995 this was changed to a white label stating the label name with 4-headed, 4-winged bird-type beast. Even later issues -- likely 2000s -- completely do away with the New Red Archives specific label on one side.
