Unicorn Records announced its first releases in late 1954 with the aim of creating “a general catalog of a wide variety of works not recorded before and also jazz and humor.” In 1956 it launched the “Music at M.I.T.” Series, recorded in Kresge Auditorium by Kapp Records.
