Tonstudio Pfanz

Profile:

Recording, mastering and lacquer processing studio in Hamburg (), founded in 1962 by Günter Pfanz.

Timeline
1962: Established as recording studio and reel-to-reel service and repair shop.
1966: Vinyl mastering and lacquer cutting introduced.
1969: Studios relocate to new premises, now consisting of 1 recording studio and 1 cutting studio. Reel-to-reel service is given up.
1992: After the death of Günter Pfanz, Torsten Günter Pfanz is the new owner. CD mastering is introduced.
1995: Lacquer cutting is given up and lathes are sold. Only CD mastering remains.
2001: Studio ultimately closed.

Identification
The lacquer cuts can be identified by "PF" in the matrix/runout etchings. Because the studio had three lacquer cutters who usually all scribed PF, only Lacquer Cut At - Tonstudio Pfanz should be used. Stefan Zolt - broadcasting copies

Pit Kombartzky - mixing engineer
Oliver Fettig - audio engineer
