Epopeya Magazine was founded in 1997 by César Fuentes Rodríguez after leaving Madhouse Magazine. The magazine focused on traditional Heavy Metal as well as subgenres like Hard Rock, Progressive Metal anmd Gothic metal.
44 issues were released before the deep economic crisis that shocked Argentina in 2001. In many of them the magazine came with a free CD containing a prerecorded edition of the radio show César Fuentes Rodríguez. It included around a dozen songs as well as a two page brochure with the story of Ancient Rome, hence the titles of the CDs.
After Epopeya dissapeared, in 2004 several of the former of the staff created Requiem Magazine.
