Mike Jones engineering career began at the famed Long John Baldry, he also trained in the art of Orchestral recording by the same people who invented the Decca Tree. Mike developed his skills in both Pop and Classical genres and with large (120-piece) orchestras as well as numerous location recordings.

He emigrated to Canada and started to work all over Canada and the USA as an independent engineer. He was instrumental in establishing many of the leading recording studios in Toronto, including Sounds Interchange, Metalworks, Eastern, and McClear Digital, where he recorded countless albums, film scores, and jingles. He worked with many different artists including, Triumph (2). During this time he also recorded the music for the feature films "Meatballs" and "High Point".

He has worked on many projects including Oasis (2), and continued recording throughout Europe and North America. He was a multi nominated Juno award winner.

Michael Banton-Jones ed on Jan. 15, 2014, peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer.
