Died April 21, 2007; Box Hill, Melbourne, Australia (due to lung cancer).

Revered Australian guitarist. Loyde first came to prominence under the pseudonym/alias Barry Lyde in the Brisbane rhythm and blues band The Wild Cherries, writing most on the band's four singles for the Festival label.

Prior to living in the UK, Loyde also released the album "Painters And Dockers.
