Do not confuse with romanian singer George Ionescu-Gion

Son of a simple employees Ionescu (father) and Gion (mother), was an actor with an amazing stage presence and a specific voice, hard to confuse.
1942 - graduated Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art „George Enescu" (Conservatorul de Muzică și Artă Dramatică „George Enescu")
1942-1948 - acting as actor at Iași Theater
1948 - transferred to Bucharest - Youth Theatre (Teatru Tineretului) and later at Little Theatre (Teatrul Mic)
1967 - receives „Cultural Merit" for his entire career as an actor.
1969 and 1972 - published two volumes of poetry
