Malcolm Seagrave

Profile:

Composer Malcolm Seagrave had the benefit of an extensive background in classical and chamber music. For many years he was a college music professor before "bolting" from the academic world to write an opera. The Birthday of the Enfanta was based on the story of that title by Oscar Wilde and was commissioned by Hidden Valley Music Seminar at Claremont, California.

Mr. Seagrave's association with his co-composer Fred Myrow started in 1957 when they were graduate students at the University of Southern California. In addition to his classical and film score work, Mr. Seagrave also produced several rock bands including Aviary.

Malcolm Seagrave died in 2002.
