American jazz trumpeter, recording engineer and studio owner. Born January 1, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois; died January 15, 2015, Burbank, Illinois (age 82).

Musical career started with Woody Herman's band, and recorded with Duke Ellington.

Became active in recording, and opened his own studio, Delmark Records, in Chicago, from 1992 to 2002.

May also be credited as "Paul Sarano" on releases.
