Lionrock

Formed in 1992, Lionrock were a British Big Beat outfit comprised of Justin Robertson, Mark Stagg, & MC Buzz B. First cutting their teeth remixing the likes of The Shamen, Bjork & Happy Mondays, they would release their debut EP 'Deconstruction.
Between 1993 and their debut album - 1996's 'An Instinct For Detection' - Lionrock released a host of singles, including 'Packet Of Peace', 'Tripwire', 'Straight To Your Head' & 'Fire Up The Shoeshaw' (which would later gain attention after its inclusion in the soundtrack to the 1999 film 'Go'). It was in that time that Stagg would be replaced by recording engineer Roger Lyons.

Lionrock's biggest chart success would come in the form of 1998's single 'Rude Boy Rock', where it would enter the chart at number 20 and would be used in television, movies and video games.

Prevalent in the remix scene throughout the 90's, the trio reworked the likes of Apollo 440, New Order, The Grid, Transglobal Underground, Manic Street Preachers, Placebo and many more, before breaking up at the turn of the century.

Robertson would continue under a number of names, including his own. Stagg continued work producing and engineering, but also created new projects, Jon Russell a decade later.
