British drummer (born 25 April 1950 in Brighton, England, United Kingdom). Primarily known as the drummer for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers (1994 to 2017), as well as recording and touring with many other acts.

First performed with the band Bloodstone in 1975, then Brian Auger's band Oblivion Express. Then ed the Average White Band following the death of drummer Robbie McIntosh, until that band broke up in 1982. Performed on Chaka Khan's 1978 debut, then ed the Saturday Night Live house band for the 1985–86 season. Recorded and performed with Duran Duran, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Slash, Chaka Khan, Eric Clapton, Bee Gees, Scritti Politti and Johnny Cash.

Met guitarist Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers live gig on February 28, 1995, in Louisville, Kentucky. Remained as the drummer for the remainder of the band's existence.

In November 2002, set up Drumroll Studios in Burbank, California.
